The tutorials are using the centimeter scale. However, converted inches are added ánd adapted in these tutorials for use on a 3 inch smoothfoam egg or a 2 3/8 inch smoothfoam ball.
A 2 1/2 inch ball also possible with a little adaption of your own.

What do you need:

For the egg:
– 8 cm or 10 cm (high) EPS / polystyrene egg with markings. (If you work in inches use a 3 or 4 inch egg.)
– 3 cotton fabrics of your choice. (No stretch, quilt fabrics work best)
– A lot of 18 mm pins. (134 to be precise, but take more in stock) (About 0.7 to 1 inch.)
– A trick marker and / or a fineliner in a color of your choice.
– Flexible measuring tape.
– Scissors
– Thimble.

Possibly: cutting mat – rolling knife – cutting ruler
(not necessarily, but handy)

For decorating: ribbon, flowers, decoration pins, beads or whatever you like to pin or glue on.
Hobby glue.

For the ball:
– 6 cm or 8 cm EPS / polystyrene ball with markings. (If you work in inches use a 2 3/8 inch or 3 inch ball.)
– 3 cotton fabrics of your choice. (No stretch, quilt fabrics work best)
– A lot of 18 mm pins. (96 to be precise, but take more in stock) (About 3/4 to 1 inch.)
– A trick marker and / or a fineliner in a color of your choice.
– Flexible measuring tape.
– Scissors
– Thimble.

Possibly: cutting mat – rolling knife – cutting ruler
(not necessarily, but handy)

For the bow you need ribbon of your choice:
In the case of this ball 3 times 3 strips of ribbon of 15 cm long. (6 inches)
A hanging ribbon of your choice of 15 cm long. (6 inches)
A pearlheadpin of about 3 cm to 5.5 cm long. (About 1 ½ to 2 inch.)
Hobbyglue.
